HP: Kotla police outpost upgraded to police station in Nurpur

Nurpur, Sep 16 (UNI) In a major step towards strengthening public safety and improving access to police services, the Kotla police outpost in Himachal Pradesh’s Nurpur police district has been upgraded to a full-fledged police station on Wednesday.
Himachal Pradesh Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister Prof Chandra Kumar formally inaugurated the new police station, in the presence of Superintendent of Police, Nurpur, Ilma Afroz, Additional Superintendent of Police Dharam Chand Verma, police personnel, elected representatives and local dignitaries.
The police outpost at Kotla has been functioning since 1997. With growing requirements of the area, it has now been upgraded to provide faster police assistance, strengthen law and order, and improve grievance redressal.
The jurisdiction of the newly established Kotla police station will cover 15 gram panchayats — Balah Kotla, Soldha, Nyanagal, Trilokpur, Bhali, Jol, Siyuni, Jangal, Kuther, Nadholi, Dol (Bhatehar), Padar, Rajol, Kothi Banda and Behi Pathiar.
During the inauguration, the minister entered the first Daily Diary (DD) entry of Police Station Kotla on the CCTNS online server, formally launching its online policing system.
The CCTNS platform will facilitate digitisation of police procedures and records, helping make policing more systematic and efficient.
Moreover, the police said the new station will strengthen patrolling and surveillance, crime prevention and investigation, besides ensuring quicker response to law-and-order issues. It will also provide residents with easier access to police services and grievance redressal at the local level.
The Nurpur police district reaffirmed its commitment to public safety, effective crime control and improved coordination with citizens to ensure a secure environment in the region.
