Hyd: GMR Aero Technic, StandardAero partner to expand on-wing engine support in APAC

Hyderabad, Sept 23 (UNI) GMR Aero Technic (GAT), a leading aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) service provider in India, and StandardAero, one of the world’s leading independent aerospace engine aftermarket and MRO providers, have signed an agreement to establish GMR Aero Technic as an authorised service centre for on-wing engine support in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, the companies said on Wednesday.
The partnership will combine StandardAero's expertise in engine aftermarket services with GMR Aero Technic's MRO capabilities and strategic location in India, with the proposed service centre set to provide specialised aircraft engine maintenance and support services to airlines and aircraft operators across the APAC region.
The proposed scope of services includes engine and module replacement, borescope inspections, fan blade and fuel nozzle replacements, gearbox changes, engine preservation and storage, Quick Engine Change (QEC) build-up, Electronic Control Unit (ECU) software upgrades, engine logistics support and engine change services.
The services are aimed at enabling operators to access specialised engine support closer to their operating bases, helping reduce aircraft downtime and improve fleet availability.
Ashok Gopinath, President and Accountable Manager, GMR Aero Technic, said the partnership marked an important milestone in the company's efforts to develop advanced engine support capabilities for the APAC region.
He said the collaboration would combine StandardAero's global expertise in engine aftermarket services with GMR Aero Technic's infrastructure and regional presence to develop a responsive on-wing support network.
Rebecca Lane, Senior Vice President–Global Sales, StandardAero, said the company was pleased to strengthen its support for operators in India through the partnership with GMR Aero Technic.
She said India represented one of the fastest-growing commercial aviation markets and StandardAero was committed to supporting operators across the country.
The partnership is part of GMR Aero Technic's strategy to expand beyond traditional airframe MRO into engine and component support capabilities and strengthen its presence in the APAC aviation aftermarket.
