Hyd: TGCSB to strengthen cybersecurity posture of Telangana Police

Hyderabad, May 15 (UNI) The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) here on Thursday signed a significant memorandum of understanding (MoU), marking a major step forward in strengthening the cybersecurity posture of the Telangana Police.

The MoU was signed at the TGCSB Headquarters here in the presence of representatives from TGCSB, Google, Ilois Digital, SentinelOne and Arete.
The MoU will remain in effect for three years and will also help train Telangana Police in handling and responding to cybersecurity incidents.
As the Director, TGCSB serves as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the Telangana Police, the TGCSB not only investigates cybercrime but also actively monitors and mitigates cybersecurity threats affecting the state.
Under the MoU, Google will implement its cloud-based Security Operations Centre (SOC), Google SecOps, at no cost, through Ilois Digital, an authorized implementation partner of Google Cloud India Private Limited.
The solution offers 24x7 monitoring and response to malicious threats and captures real-time data from networks and internet packets.
It applies deep analytics and threat intelligence to correlate alerts and flag malicious cyber security incidents.
Further, as per the MoU, Arete IR LLP will provide Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) services and deploy the SentinelOne EDR solution for TGCSB, at no cost.
This initiative aims to fortify endpoint security and provide 24x7 services, including threat monitoring, detection, analysis, and response across the Telangana Police’s IT infrastructure, with a focus on the endpoint level.
Speaking at the event, Ms Shikha Goel, Director, TGCSB, said “it gives me great pride to sign the MoU for the Security Operations Centre and Endpoint Detection & Response solution which is a pivotal step in proactively identifying and neutralizing malicious security threats, and strengthening Telangana Police’s cyber defence capabilities."
"Together, these initiatives represent our unwavering commitment to safeguarding our digital assets\\\\\\\\ and ensuring a resilient cybersecurity framework," she added.
The event was attended by Ms Shikha Goel, Director, TGCSB, Harshvardhan, SP Cyber Security, TGCSB, Muthusamy Dharanidharan, Director, Ilois Digital Pvt Ltd, Sandeep Kumar Peshkar, Senior Vice President, Arete IR LLP, Jyothi Prakash, Business Head, Google Security, Sasidhar Vellamcheti, Staff Solutions Engineer, SentinelOne India, and other officers and staff of TGCSB.
