Karnataka Cong MLA questions Op Sindoor’s effectiveness

Bengaluru, May 16 (UNI) Karnataka Congress MLA Kothur Manjunath has stirred a controversy by casting doubts over the effectiveness of Operation Sindoor which targeted terrorist hubs and military infrastructure in Pakistan.
Manjunath expressed skepticism about the operation’s outcome, pointing to inconsistent reports on the number of terrorists killed and the extent of damage inflicted on Pakistani terror infrastructure.
"Have they confirmed that at least 100 terrorists have been killed? Who were those terrorists who crossed our border? What are their identities? Why was there no security at the border? How did they escape?" the MLA questioned, highlighting the need to address the root causes of terrorism and suggesting that the operation might reflect an intelligence lapse.
His remarks drew sharp criticism from various quarters, with opponents accusing him of undermining national security efforts and the sacrifices of the armed forces. Supporters of the operation warned that such public skepticism could demoralise the military and politicise sensitive national security issues.
