IDF military intel chief terms strikes on Iran a fight for its existence

Jerusalem, June 13 (UNI) Calling the recent Israeli strikes against Iran a fight for the country’s very existence, the IDF’s Military Intelligence Directorate (Aman) chief Major General Shlomi Binder stated that Aman is operating at the highest level of operational readiness to disrupt Tehran’s nuclear and missile programmes.

“We want to degrade, disrupt and remove this threat,” Binder said. “We are embarking on a campaign that is nothing short of existential — against an enemy that seeks to destroy us.”

Speaking from the Israel Air Force’s underground command centre following a simultaneous strike on senior Iranian military leadership, Binder went on to praise the intelligence community for its role in identifying the threat and preparing for what comes next, reports Jerusalem Post.

Binder went on to say that Aman had worked hard to catch and disrupt Iran's secret attempts to work on various nuclear weapons group development issues, and worked even harder at following Tehran’s secret progress regarding conventional ballistic missile threats.

Ever since the Israeli strikes took place, several Iranian nuclear scientists and top military officials have been killed, further damaging Iran’s nuclear weapons program. The attack was one of the most intense and meticulously coordinated attacks by the IDF on Tehran’s nuclear weapons programs, ever since its targeting of Iranian facilities in 2023.

Binder called the attack a historic moment for military intelligence coordinating so many different issues for the current campaign against Iran.

“Military intelligence is fully prepared for this mission, is on very high alert, and is entering this campaign from a very strong position,” he said.

In a motivational speech to his officers, he said “I trust you, I believe in you. Bring your sharpness and your best selves — and with that, we will win. Good luck.”
