India's whisky market offers diverse choices for Diwali gifting

Bengaluru, Nov 4 (UNI) India's whisky market offers a diverse range of choices for adult consumers this Diwali, with established brands and newer entrants competing for attention across accessible price segments.
The selection of 10 whisky labels includes familiar names such as McDowell's No.1, Royal Stag, Imperial Blue and Officer's Choice, alongside newer offerings such as Kingpin Whisky, reflecting the changing landscape of the country's spirits market.
Kingpin Whisky, launched by the Adie Broswon Group, is among the newer entrants. Introduced in Delhi, Punjab and Chandigarh, the brand targets younger adult consumers with a contemporary identity and accessible positioning. Made using selected malts and Indian grain spirits, it features smoky notes with hints of tobacco and honey, followed by a lingering finish.
McDowell's No.1, one of India's recognised whisky brands, has maintained a strong market presence for decades, supported by its widespread availability and accessible positioning.
Royal Stag, known for its blend of Indian grain spirits and imported Scotch malts, continues to be a familiar name among consumers. Its Barrel select variant offers an additional choice within the portfolio.
Imperial Blue has established itself in the popular whisky segment through its blend-based offering and extensive market reach, while 8PM Premium Black from Radico Khaitan adds another option in the accessible category.
Officer's Choice, which has a significant presence across the country, also offers variants such as Officer's Choice Blue. Sterling Reserve B7, from Allied Blenders and Distillers, brings a contemporary identity to the segment with its blended whisky offering.
Royal Challenge, another longstanding brand, continues to enjoy recognition among consumers, while Director's Special, popularly known as DSP, has retained its presence in the value-oriented segment.
Haywards Fine completes the selection, offering another option in the popular price category.
The mix of established labels and newer brands highlights the variety within India's whisky market, where consumer familiarity, accessibility and contemporary branding continue to shape the category.
