New Delhi, Oct 29 (UNI) The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has launched Special Campaign 6.0 for the Disposal of Pending Matters across its headquarters, laboratories and establishments, with a focus on clearing backlogs, improving public grievance redressal, digitising records and enhancing cleanliness and workspace utilisation.
Coordinated by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), the campaign has achieved 100 per cent of its targets for resolving pending public grievances, Parliamentary Assurances and inter-ministerial references, according to information released by the organisation.
As part of efforts to streamline record management, around 20,000 files identified for weeding out are being processed in accordance with prescribed record retention schedules. Shredded paper is being sent to the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) for recycling, promoting sustainable waste management practices.
The organisation has also digitised approximately five lakh pages of historical documents and records. The initiative is aimed at improving accessibility, strengthening administrative transparency and reducing dependence on physical records.
Under the campaign, cleanliness and space optimisation drives are being carried out across DRDO campuses, residential complexes and research testing ranges. Obsolete equipment, redundant furniture and scrap materials are being removed to improve the utilisation and upkeep of available space.
The environmentally responsible disposal of scrap and obsolete hardware has generated revenue of around Rs 35 lakh, combining resource recovery with efforts to maintain cleaner and more efficient facilities.
The campaign seeks to improve administrative efficiency by addressing pending matters, modernising record-keeping systems and ensuring better utilisation of infrastructure across DRDO establishments.
