Lucknow, Nov 6 (UNI) Election Commission of India ( ECI) has issued instructions to all District Election Officers to seek the cooperation of various government departments, as well as social, professional and non-governmental organisations, with a view to securing maximum public participation in the drive to ensure the inclusion of all eligible citizens in the electoral rolls under the Special Summary Revision-2027 of the Assembly electoral rolls.

UP Chief Electoral Officer ( CEO) Navdeep Rinwa, here on Friday, stated that coordination would be established with public sector enterprises (PSEs), private-sector industrial establishments, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), District and Tehsil Bar Associations, advocates' organisations, civil defence organisations, workers' organisations, traders' associations, medical bodies and medical associations to facilitate the enrolment of eligible citizens in the electoral rolls.

He said special enrolment camps will be organised at workplaces to facilitate the inclusion in the electoral rolls of eligible employees working in public sector undertakings and industrial establishments. In residential societies, high-rise apartment complexes and colonies, RWAs will assist in enrolling new residents, young people eligible to vote for the first time, and other eligible citizens whose names have not yet been entered in the electoral rolls.
Similarly, volunteers of civil defence organisations will assist in identifying eligible citizens who have been left out of the electoral rolls in urban areas, densely populated localities, and slum settlements. With the support of workers' organisations, enrolment will be facilitated for workers in the organised and unorganised sectors, including contractual and daily-wage employees, at factories, industrial areas and construction sites.

The CEO said meetings will be held with traders' associations to encourage their active participation in voter awareness and enrolment activities. In coordination with the Indian Medical Association (IMA), private hospitals, nursing homes and medical institutions, enrolment camps will be organised on their premises. Voter awareness programmes will also be conducted in slum settlements and remote areas.
