Jaipur, May 24 (UNI) Josh Inglis and Marcus Stoinis have returned to Punjab Kings' playing XI as skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to field first against Delhi Capitals in Match 66 of the IPL 2025 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium here on Saturday.
Welcoming the return of the Australian duo, Iyer said the team was focused on building momentum in the closing stages of the league. "Definitely happy faces. I am not satisfied and content. We want to build momentum from here. Each and every individual is performing for the team. Job half done as of now. Important to stay in the present and seize every possible chance," he said.
Delhi Punjab captain Faf du Plessis, meanwhile, acknowledged the ups and downs of their season. "We will have a bowl. I think today it is 50-50. Just the make-up of the side. We are playing an extra batsman. It helps while chasing,” he noted.
"It has been very frustrating. We started well, then went on a roller coaster. We’ve played enough T20 cricket to understand. We played well in the last game for the first 17 overs, then lost focus. We are playing for the fifth spot. We had our goals to get into the top four."
With Punjab eyeing a top-two finish and Delhi pushing for a fifth-place spot, a high-stakes and closely fought contest is on the cards at The Sawai Mansingh.
