International Yoga Day organized at 5,617 places in Eluru district

Eluru, June 21 (UNI) The International Yoga Day was organized at 5,617 places in Eluru district in which Collector K Vetri Selvi, Joint Collector P Dhatri Reddy and other prominent people participated.

Collector K Vetri Selvi, Joint Collector P Shatri Reddy, ZP chairperson G Padmasri, MLAs B Radhakrishnaiah, Chintamaneni Prabhakar, Mayor Sk. Noorzahan and DRO V Visweswar Rao participated and practiced Yoga at a programme organized on the Sir CR Reddy degree college campus here on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Collector Vetri Selvi said that Yogandhra programmes were successfully organized across the district from May 21st to June 21st. The Collector congratulated all those who attended the Yoga programmes in large numbers, adding that Yoga programmes were organized at 5,617 places across the district on the occasion of International Yoga Day.

Collector Vetri Selvi revealed that a large-scale Yoga programme was organized in the premises of CR Reddy Degree College as the main venue in the district, adding that the Yoga programmes organized in the Indoor Stadium and Alluri Seetharamaraju Stadium in the city received overwhelming response.

"As part of this Yogandhra 2-25, Yoga programmes were organized at several villages and ward secretariats across the district for which 9,59,635 people registered to participate in the events at various places in the district," Collector Vetri Selve asserted.

MLA Badeti Radhakrishnaiah highlighted that the Yogandhra programmes were successfully carried out across the State for a month under the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. He thanked the Chief Minister and appreciated him for his dedication in setting the Guinness Book of Records. MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar also spoke.
