Typist caught red-handed taking bribe in Bhadradri Kothagudem: ACB

Hyderabad, Jun 21 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday caught a typist red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 2,500 in Bhadradri Kothagudem district.

Chittemsetti Navakranth, a Typist (Computer Operator) at the Tahsildar’s office in Burgampahad mandal, was caught by the ACB Khammam Unit at around 1314 hours, while accepting the bribe from a complainant.

The bribe was allegedly demanded for uploading a ration card application of the complainant’s cousin on the official portal and forwarding it for further processing.

An ACB statement noted that the accused had a pattern of soliciting bribes via UPI payments for ration card-related services. The bribe amount was recovered from his possession, and chemical tests on his right-hand fingers yielded a positive result, confirming the acceptance of the bribe.

The accused was being arrested and produced before the Special Court for SPE & ACB Cases-cum-III Additional District and Sessions Judge at Warangal, the ACB added.
