Iran's Araghchi to visit China ahead of Xi-Trump meeting

Tehran, Sept 15 (UNI) Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will visit China on Wednesday for talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, Beijing said on Tuesday, as China prepares for President Xi Jinping's expected meeting with US President Donald Trump later this month.
"Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Seyyed Abbas Araghchi will visit China on September 16. Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi will hold talks with him," China's Foreign Ministry said in a post on X.
The visit comes ahead of Xi's expected trip to the United States on Sept. 24, where he is due to meet Trump. Trump has said he expects the talks with the Chinese leader to produce positive outcomes.
