J&K CEO directs house-to-house drive to enrol left-out, first-time voters

Srinagar, Oct 1 (UNI) Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu and Kashmir, Sanjeev Verma on Thursday chaired a meeting with District Election Officers (DEOs) and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) to review the enrolment of left-out eligible and young, first-time voters under the ongoing process of continuous updation of electoral rolls.
During the meeting, Verma stressed the need to identify and enrol all eligible persons who have attained the qualifying age but are yet to register as voters, with special focus on young and first-time electors.
He directed Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to undertake house-to-house visits and remain accessible to eligible citizens requiring assistance with voter registration and related forms.
The BLOs were also asked to facilitate the proper filling and submission of forms, particularly for electors facing difficulties during the enrolment process.
The CEO emphasised that concerted field-level efforts should ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral roll.
Verma reiterated his commitment to maintaining an accurate, inclusive and updated electoral roll across Jammu and Kashmir.
