Jammu Firing Case: Police arrests two absconding shooters

Jammu, Jun 24 (UNI) Jammu Police have arrested two more accused persons wanted in Gangyal firing case of June 6.

The spokesman here on Tuesday said that in continuation to the ongoing investigation into the Gangyal firing incident Police have apprehended the remaining two main accused, who were evading arrest.

In the incident of June 6 at Gangyal Chowk, the two main accused who opened fire, resulting in gunshot injuries in the right arm of one person namely Paramjeet Singh of Seora were nabbed by a team.

The wanted accused, identified as Ramandeep Singh Dutta and Harneet Singh Dutta, residents of Digiana Ashram Jammu were arrested on Monday, they said.

Notably, despite the arrest of four key accused earlier, these two accused remained absconding and were actively evading police pursuit.

To facilitate their apprehension and alert the public and relevant agencies, Hue and Cry Notices were issued against both absconders, said police.

They said that in addition, Look Out Circulars (LOCs) were generated and shared with all concerned agencies to prevent their escape from the country and ensure their immediate detention if located.

The Jammu police worked rigorously to dismantle the broader network behind this criminal conspiracy.

Jammu Police reiterates its commitment to act firmly against those who attempt to disrupt public order and threaten civil peace. Further updates will follow as the investigation progresses, said the spokesman.
