Jarange Patil’s health deteriorates on 19th day of hunger strike, Mumbai march uncertain

Mumbai, Sep 16 (UNI) Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange Patil’s health deteriorated further on Wednesday, the 19th day of his indefinite hunger strike, raising uncertainty over his planned onward march to Mumbai.
Jarange Patil, who is leading the agitation seeking reservation for the Maratha community, is currently in Patoda, where he underwent a medical examination by the district medical officer.
Officials said his condition had deteriorated, raising concerns over whether he would be able to continue the journey towards Mumbai.
Jarange Patil was scheduled to halt at Shrigonda in Ahilyanagar district on Wednesday as part of his onward journey. However, his deteriorating health has cast doubt on whether he will be able to proceed as planned.
The development has raised concern among his supporters and members of the group accompanying the march. A decision on his further movement is expected to be taken based on his medical condition and medical advice.
Jarange Patil has been leading the agitation demanding reservation for the Maratha community and has been on an indefinite hunger strike for the past 19 days. UNI SP AAB
