Jewellery worth Rs 2.5 cr stolen from Shirdi businessman recovered; accused at large

Ahilyanagar, May 25 (UNI) Jewellery worth Rs 2.5 crore, stolen from a businessman, was recovered by the local crime branch team of the police. However, the accused is still at large.
The accused's brother brought the jewellery from Rajasthan and handed it over to the police in Ahilyanagar.
District Superintendent of Police Somnath Gharge said the theft took place in Shirdi on May 13.

The accused has been identified Suresh Kumar Bhursingh Rajpurohit, a resident of Rajasthan, who is absconding.
His brother Ramesh Kumar Rajpurohit, who works in a cloth shop in Mumbai, brought the jewellery from Rajasthan and handed it over to the police here.

Vijay Singh Vasnaji Khishi, who sells wholesale gold and silver jewellery, had filed a complaint about the stolen jewellery.
The accused Suresh Kumar Rajpurohit was working as a driver for Khishi.
Khishi was staying at a hotel in Shirdi when the driver stole the jewellery from there.

The police team searched for the accused Suresh Kumar Rajpurohit in Pune and Mumbai areas.
His CCTV footage was not found in the Shirdi area either. Therefore, teams were sent to his native village Udaipur and Jodhpur areas in Rajasthan.

The relatives of the accused were asked to inform police if they get any information about the accused.
Suddenly, the accused's brother came to the police in the city yesterday with the jewelry worth Rs 2.5 crore 59 lakh and handed over it to police.
