Jharkhand: Hemant Soren provides Rs 10 lakh aid for boy’s ear treatment

Ramgarh, Oct 15 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday provided a cheque of Rs 10 lakh to the family of a six-year-old boy for his ear treatment under the Chief Minister’s Serious Illness Treatment Scheme, following completion of the required procedures within 48 hours.
Anup Besra, son of Ramkishun Besra of Bharech Nagar in Beratand, Ramgarh district, is undergoing treatment at Christian Medical College, Vellore, where doctors have advised replacement of his inner ear, according to a state government press release.
The boy’s father had recently met Soren at Nemra, the Chief Minister’s ancestral village, and sought financial assistance, citing the high cost of treatment.
Taking cognisance of the request, Soren directed officials to complete the necessary formalities. The Ramgarh district administration processed the application, and the cheque was handed over to the family at Nemra on Thursday.
Ramkishun Besra said the financial assistance would provide significant support for his son’s treatment.
Soren is currently in Nemra in connection with the post-death rituals of his mother, Roopi Soren. The Chief Minister also met other people who approached him with their grievances and directed the officials concerned to take necessary action on their applications.
