Jharkhand: Maharashtra PhD student found dead at ICAR hostel

Ranchi, Oct 3 (UNI) A PhD student from Maharashtra was found dead in his room at an ICAR hostel in Kharsidag here, police said on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Prathamesh Raipure, who had been staying at the hostel for around one-and-a-half years while pursuing his PhD.
According to police, Raipure had called his father and informed him that he was unwell. The call was disconnected during the conversation, following which his father contacted the hostel warden.
The warden reached the student's room and found the door locked from inside. After repeated attempts to get a response failed, the door was broken open and Raipure was found unconscious on the bed.
He was taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Police reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem. Kharsidag police outpost in-charge Manish said the cause of death was not clear and would be established after the postmortem report.
