K'taka reports 35 active Covid cases; no deaths

Bengaluru, May 24 (UNI) The Karnataka government has reported a total of 35 active Covid-19 cases in the state so far this year, with 32 cases recorded in Bengaluru city alone.
Despite no Covid-related deaths being reported to date, officials have observed a gradual increase in cases over the past 20 days.
In view of this trend, the Department of Health and Family Welfare has urged the general public to strictly adhere to Covid-19 Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) measures to prevent further spread of the virus.
Special emphasis has been placed on vulnerable groups, including pregnant women, children, immunocompromised individuals, and persons with co-morbid conditions. These groups are advised to wear face masks, especially when visiting crowded places. The department also recommended regular hand hygiene practices, including the use of hand sanitizers.
Additionally, individuals exhibiting symptoms of Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) are advised to undergo Covid-19 testing on a priority basis. Early diagnosis will facilitate timely treatment and help contain the spread of the virus for the safety of the wider community.
The Department continues to monitor the situation closely and calls for public cooperation to keep the pandemic under control.
