Kajol seeks divine blessings at Dakshineswar temple ahead of film 'Maa'

Kolkata, May 22 (UNI) Amid the soft glow of the Thursday morning sun, actress Kajol paid a spiritual visit to the iconic Dakshineswar temple to seek the blessings of Goddess Bhavatarini.
Draped in a soft peach saree and embracing a quintessential Bengali look, she made offerings to the Goddess in a quiet, graceful manner.
Presently in the eastern metropolis for the promotional rollout of her new film, Kajol's spiritual interlude served as a symbolic invocation of auspicious beginnings. The temple premises, usually steeped in quiet devotion, briefly swelled with excitement as news of her presence spread. Admirers thronged the area, attempting to edge closer for a fleeting touch or photograph, as her security entourage struggled to maintain order.
Despite the commotion, Kajol paused after her prayers, offering a brief glimpse to those gathered before proceeding to her next stop, NSC Bose International Airport.
Speaking about her visit to the Temple, Kajol shared an emotional note on her experience. "When I came to the temple, I felt like I had come to my own mother. I prayed and sought her blessings for my next film 'Maa' which is a mythological horror. I have played a very powerful character in the film. I hope everyone will like it."
Kajol will be seen in the film as a doting mother, who is on a mission to protect her child from evil. Besides her, the project will also have Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, Jitin Gulati, Gopal Singh, Surjyasikha Das, Yaaneea Bharadwaj, and Kherin Sharma in crucial roles, along with others.
Vishal Furia is the director, while Saiwyn Quadras has written the screenplay for "Maa". Produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, and Kumar Mangat Pathak, the film is presented by Jio Studios and Devgn Films.
Touted to be a layered narrative exploring emotional and possibly supernatural themes, the film also features child actor Roopkatha Chakraborty, who essays the role of a ghostly presence tethered to the protagonist's ancestral home. Interestingly, it was Roopkatha who helped Kajol with her Bengali dialogues. UNI NST SSP
