Kakinada: Coromandel distributes free spectacles to 131 school bus drivers

Kakinada, Oct 6 (UNI) Coromandel International Limited distributed free spectacles to 131 private school bus drivers as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme at a function held at the company premises here on Tuesday.
Coromandel unit head K Jagannadhan said a free eye camp was organised for 180 private school bus drivers at the Coromandel hospital on September 21.
A team of specialists identified 131 drivers who required spectacles to improve their vision.
Deputy Transport Commissioner K Sridhar, who attended the programme as chief guest, distributed the spectacles to the drivers.
He advised the drivers to undergo regular health check-ups, including monitoring of blood pressure, blood sugar, eyesight and heart health, stating that good health was essential for safe driving.
Sridhar appreciated the Coromandel management for organising the free eye camp for private school bus drivers.
CSR AGM Vamsikrishna, CSR coordinator Yasoda Krishna, PRO Varanasi Ravikumar and Kiran Eye Hospital coordinator Satyanarayana were among those present.
