Kangra SDM cracks down on vendors for encroachment, issues challans to seven

Kangra, Oct 19 (UNI) Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kangra Dr Anjali Garg issued challans to seven vendors for violating prescribed rules and encroaching upon public space at the newly constructed fruit and vegetable market near Tehsil Chowk here.
During a surprise inspection of the market, the SDM found that some vendors were repeatedly violating regulations by extending their goods beyond their designated spaces despite several warnings from the administration.
The encroachments were causing inconvenience to pedestrians and members of the public, obstructing the free movement of people in the market. Taking strict action, Dr Garg issued challans to seven vendors and directed all traders to keep their goods strictly within their allotted spaces.
She warned them against encroaching upon pathways or placing merchandise outside their shops under any circumstances. The SDM said the vendors had been provided with new shops and should utilise them properly by keeping their goods inside the premises.
Emphasising that maintaining order in the market was a collective responsibility, she made it clear that violations of the prescribed rules would not be tolerated. She urged all vendors to comply with the administration's directions and ensure that public convenience was not compromised.
