KIMS Kondapur doctors save Ghana-based Indian businessman airlifted in critical condition

Hyderabad, June 7 (UNI) In a remarkable medical rescue, doctors at KIMS Hospitals, Kondapur, successfully saved the life of a 60-year-old businessman, Uday, who was airlifted from Ghana in critical condition after being diagnosed with falciparum malaria, dengue, and severe sepsis.
Originally from Kakinada, Uday had been living in Ghana for over 20 years. His health rapidly declined due to complications, including acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), requiring ventilator support.
Acting swiftly, doctors in Ghana coordinated with KIMS specialists to facilitate a high-risk air ambulance transfer to Hyderabad.
Under the supervision of Dr Ravisekhar Reddy and Dr Pankaj, and with multi-disciplinary support from various specialists, Uday was treated intensively for 23 days. “His survival is a testament to medical excellence and teamwork under pressure,” said Dr Reddy.
The mission, spanning a 16-hour flight at 35,000 feet, was meticulously planned and executed, reflecting KIMS Kondapur’s capability to handle complex global medical emergencies. Uday is now on the road to full recovery, thanks to the coordinated efforts of the hospital’s expert team, a hospital statement said on Saturday.
