Kolkata Metro announces extended night services during Durga Puja

Kolkata, Oct 8 (UNI) With the clock ticking closer to West Bengal's biggest festival, Kolkata Metro Railway has announced night-long services on the Blue and Green Lines to cater to pandal hoppers on Saptami, Ashtami and Navami days of Durga Puja.
On Panchami and Shashthi, to be celebrated on October 15 and 16, the authorities will run services from 6 am to 11 pm from the terminal points of the Blue and Green Lines, which carry the highest passenger load across the network.
On Saptami, Ashtami and Navami, the service timings have been tweaked by the authorities. Considering the larger number of commuters expected to be pandal hoppers, the city Metro will operate services from 1 pm to 4 am the following morning on the Green and Blue Lines from October 17 to 20. During these days, the peak-hour frequency on the Blue Line will be six minutes.
On Dashami, services will be operated from 1 pm to 10.30 pm on the Blue Line and from 1.30 pm to 10.30 pm on the Green Line.
The Yellow Line, another crucial corridor, will have services from 7.18 am to 9.20 pm on Panchami and Shashthi, with five direct services from Jai Hind Bimanbandar to Shahid Khudiram.
As informed by the city Metro office, the Purple Line will operate services between 6.40 am and 9.26 pm on Panchami and Shashthi, while the Orange Line will have services between 7.40 am and 8.45 pm on those days.
On Saptami, Ashtami and Navami, the Yellow Line will run services from 3 pm to 10.53 pm, while the Purple Line will have services from 3 pm to 10.55 pm from Saptami to Dashami.
As informed by the city Metro office, services on the Orange Line will not be operated from October 17 to 21. On Dashami, the Yellow Line will operate services from 3 pm to 9.38 pm.
