KTR blames Congress Govt for drought, announces BRS public meeting in Nirmal on Nov 11

Hyderabad, Oct 27 (UNI) BRS working president K T Rama Rao (KTR) on Tuesday accused the Congress government of mismanaging water resources and worsening drought-like conditions in Telangana, alleging that farmers were suffering from shortages of irrigation water, electricity and urea.
Speaking at Telangana Bhavan amidst several Congress and BJP leaders from Nirmal constituency joining the BRS, KTR claimed that waters from the Godavari and Krishna rivers were flowing into the sea instead of being used for irrigation. He alleged that the government's failure to operate lift irrigation pumps had contributed to the crisis and said the situation could have been avoided through better water management.
KTR criticised the Congress government over delays in Rythu Bandhu payments and the implementation of election promises. Recalling the BRS government's initiatives, including 24-hour free power, irrigation facilities, Rythu Bandhu, KCR Kit, Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak, he claimed that farmers and other sections had benefited during KCR's tenure.
Accusing Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of neglecting farmers' problems, KTR expressed confidence that Telangana would return to the path of development and welfare under former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao's leadership. He also criticised the BJP and Congress over their performance in Nirmal constituency.
KTR called upon BRS leaders and workers to strengthen the party at the grassroots level and announced a grand public meeting in Nirmal on November 11. He said more leaders were expected to join the party at the meeting and assured party workers that appropriate responsibilities would be assigned to those working for the organisation.
