KTR demands white paper on Sircilla land allegations, seeks answers on weavers and farmers’ dues

Hyderabad, Sep 27 (UNI) BRS Working President and Sircilla MLA K T Rama Rao (KTR) on Sunday wrote an open letter to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who is visiting Sircilla, demanding that the government release a white paper and evidence regarding allegations of 8,000 acres of government land being misappropriated.
KTR welcomed the Chief Minister to Sircilla but urged him to focus on resolving local issues instead of making political or personal remarks.
He challenged Revanth Reddy to provide details of the alleged 2,400 acres recovered by the government, including the mandal, village, survey numbers, extent and ownership.
He said the government should release a white paper if the allegations were true and sought an apology if they could not be substantiated.
KTR also demanded clarity on the discontinuation of the Bathukamma saree scheme, saying it had provided year-round employment to Sircilla weavers.
He claimed that orders worth Rs 3,313 crore were placed during the previous BRS government, helping increase the annual turnover of Sircilla’s textile sector from Rs 250 crore to nearly Rs 1,000 crore.
He sought immediate payment of Rs 60 crore in pending dues to weavers and demanded restoration of the 10 per cent yarn subsidy and the Rs 5 lakh Nethanna Bima insurance scheme. He also called for a yarn depot to be established in Sircilla.
KTR demanded the immediate operationalisation of the 88-acre Weaving Park, established at a cost of Rs 387.61 crore, and sought clarity on the allotment of its sheds to weavers.
He also urged the government to facilitate new industries in the 60-acre Apparel Park and revive the Power Loom and Handloom Development Corporations.
On welfare issues, KTR demanded payment of pending Rythu Bandhu dues, implementation of the promised Rs 15,000 per acre assistance for tenant farmers and completion of the Rs 2 lakh farm loan waiver. He also sought the completion of the Padmashali Welfare Association building in Sircilla.
KTR said the Chief Minister should use his Sircilla visit to provide concrete answers and announce timelines for resolving the pending issues concerning weavers, farmers and other sections of the constituency. UNI VV SAS
