Lalu all set to become RJD national president again

Patna, Jun 23 (UNI) RJD President Lalu Prasad is all set to become the national president of the party again as he is the only candidate to have filed his nomination paper for the top post of the organisation on Monday.
Prasad filed his nomination papers before national returning officer Dr Ram Chandra Purvey and assistant returning officer Chitranjan Gagan.
Those who have signed as proposers in Prasad's nomination papers are former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, leader of the opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, former Bihar Ministers Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Shivanand Tiwari and others.
Assistant Election Officer Chitranjan Gagan told media persons here that the scrutiny of nomination papers would be conducted on June 24 morning. In the afternoon, the nomination papers could be withdrawn, he added. If nomination papers were found true and Lalu did not withdraw the same, he would be declared elected unopposed, he stated.
" On July 5, formal announcement of Lalu being elected as national president of the party would be made after ratification of the process in national council meeting of the party ", he informed. UNI KKS SSP

Women for trees campaign in Manipur

Imphal, June 23 (UNI) A tree plantation campaign “Women For Trees” continued with a Tree Plantation Programme held at Kabowakching, Nambol on Monday.
The programme saw enthusiastic participation from women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under the aegis of Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM), along with local residents, who actively took part in planting saplings at designated locations near Kabowakching Makha Leikai Pukhri Achouba, where a Water Body Rejuvenation Project is being undertaken under AMRUT 2.0.
