Jammu, June 24 (UNI) The yatra on landslide-hit new tracks and chopper service due to fog remained suspended on Tuesday for the pilgrims of the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine nestled in the Trikuta Hills of Katra town in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Officials here said that the new track was closed due to a landslide and mudslide on Monday triggered by heavy rain near Hemkoti.
"The men and machinery are on the job to clear the debris," they said, adding that the yatra is not being allowed on the new track.
They said that the battery car service that is operational on the new route is also affected.
Officials further added that the yatra is smoothly progressing from the old traditional route.
They stated that the chopper service from Katra to Sanjhi Chhat also remained suspended due to dense fog for the sixth consecutive day.
"The service will resume after the weather improves," they said.
The yatra to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine that remained hit due to border tension during Operation Sindoor has improved in June.
