Maha: BJP infighting, allies' silence raise concerns for Mahayuti in Satara

Satara, Oct 19 (UNI) Political developments in Satara have gathered momentum following the announcement of the Mahayuti alliance's candidate for the Pune Graduate Constituency election, with differences within the BJP and the uncertain stance of its alliance partners raising concerns over the coalition's prospects.
The absence of BJP minister Jaykumar Gore and MLA Dhyansheel Kadam from a party meeting held in Satara has fuelled speculation about internal discontent. The decision of MP Udayanraje Bhosale to refrain from speaking at the meeting has further intensified discussions about the unity within the ruling alliance.
The nomination of Smita Jadhav as the Mahayuti candidate has reportedly caused resentment among sections of the party's old and loyal workers in Satara district and across the constituency. The growing discontent has triggered concerns that internal differences could affect the alliance's electoral performance.
Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party have yet to make their positions clear, adding to the uncertainty surrounding the Mahayuti's campaign in the district. The lack of visible coordination among the alliance partners has become a subject of political discussion.
The developments have also prompted speculation that the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi could benefit if the Mahayuti fails to present a united front in the Pune Graduate Constituency election.
With differences within the BJP and uncertainty over coordination among its allies coming to the fore, attention is now focused on whether the Mahayuti leadership will be able to resolve the emerging discontent and ensure a coordinated campaign.
The political situation in Satara is being closely watched as the election approaches.
