Zeeshan Siddique raises public safety concerns following firing involving Tiger Shroff

Mumbai, Oct 19 (UNI) Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLC Zeeshan Siddique has questioned the effectiveness of security arrangements in Mumbai following a reported firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff. He expressed concern over repeated threats and attacks, alleging serious shortcomings in Maharashtra's law enforcement and intelligence systems.
Reacting to the incident, Siddique questioned whether ordinary citizens could feel secure when prominent personalities, including actors, politicians and businessmen, were allegedly facing threats to their safety.
"If actors, politicians, and businessmen are not safe in Mumbai, how can the general public be?" Siddique asked, raising concerns about the security situation in the country's financial capital.
The NCP legislator's remarks highlighted his apprehension over the ability of security agencies to prevent incidents involving high-profile individuals.
He alleged that repeated threats and attacks indicated weaknesses in policing and intelligence arrangements, bringing the effectiveness of existing security measures into question.
Siddique's comments also came against the backdrop of the killing of his father, former Maharashtra Minister Baba Siddique, in October 2024.
His principal concern centred on the wider implications of such incidents for public confidence in security arrangements.
By referring to the safety of actors, political figures and businesspeople, Siddique questioned what protection ordinary residents could expect.
Notably, three motorcycle-borne men opened fire at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff's vehicle on Sunday evening, October 18, in the upscale Juhu area of Mumbai. His personal driver and a nearby autorickshaw driver were injured in the firing.
