Maha: Crop inspections to be conducted through ‘e-Ferfar’ system: Revenue Minister Bawankule

Bharat Ghandat
Nashik, Nov 8 (UNI) The Maharashtra government, led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has decided to conduct crop inspections through the 'e-Ferfar' system in areas where online Kharif crop registration is not possible due to technical and geographical difficulties.
The decision is expected to provide relief to lakhs of farmers across the state.
Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule had strongly advocated the move.
The Revenue Department has now issued an official circular implementing the alternative arrangement.
Farmers have been facing several technical and geographical issues while registering their crops through the Central Government's Digital Crop Survey mobile application.
These include incorrect distance mapping between agricultural plots, discrepancies in village maps, and the non-availability of maps and survey numbers for certain villages.
To ensure that farmers do not suffer due to these technical glitches and that their crop registration remains pending, the government has introduced an alternative provision for the ongoing Kharif season.
Under this arrangement, crop inspections will be conducted at the Talathi level through the 'e-Ferfar' system. The Settlement Commissioner and Director of Land Records, Pune, have been issued necessary instructions in this regard.
Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said, "The government has introduced an alternative arrangement through the 'e-Ferfar' system to ensure that online crop registration does not get delayed due to technical and geographical difficulties and that farmers do not face any inconvenience.
The revenue administration must implement this process without any delay and provide immediate relief to farmers."
