Maha: Fadnavis hails BJP chief as symbol of new generation in party organisation

Mumbai, Sep 16 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday praised Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin, describing him as a representative of the new generation and a symbol of the "new energy and new blood" brought into the party organisation.
Speaking during Nabin's visit to Mumbai, Fadnavis said the BJP is committed to taking India towards becoming a developed nation and described it as the world's largest political party.
He added that Nabin, who represents the younger generation, "symbolises the organisational changes and renewed energy within the party".
"Nitin Nabin has been elected as an MLA from Bihar four times consecutively. He has been visiting Maharashtra for several years as the party's state in-charge and knows many Maharashtra BJP workers personally. He is familiar with different parts of the state," Fadnavis said.
The CM stated that Nabin has been invited to Mumbai during the ongoing Ganesh festival and thanked him for accepting the invitation.
He said Ganeshotsav is one of Maharashtra's major festivals and noted that festivals such as Ganeshotsav and Shiv Jayanti are celebrated with great enthusiasm across the state.
"Nabin's visit to Mumbai today has increased the enthusiasm of party workers as well as devotees," Fadnavis said.
Nabin, who is on his first visit to Maharashtra after assuming charge as BJP national president, said he considered his arrival on the "sacred land of Maharashtra" a "fortunate moment".
"Ganeshotsav is being celebrated across the state and the country. It is a moment of great fortune for me to be here during this festive and devotional atmosphere," Nabin said.
He also praised Fadnavis, saying the state CM represented himself as a "big brother" of the youth and women.
Moreover, Nabin invoked the blessings of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and said that the country is moving firmly in the right direction under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During his Mumbai visit, Nabin is scheduled to visit the Chief Minister's official residence, Varsha, to seek the blessings of Ganpati Bappa.
He is also expected to visit the residences of Deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar for Ganesh darshan. UNI SP ATP SAS
