Maha: Mahatma Jotirao Phule Revenue Lok Adalat to be held in Nashik Division

Nashik, Sep 22 (UNI) The Land Records Department will conduct the Mahatma Jotirao Phule Revenue Lok Adalat in seven district offices across five districts of the Nashik division to facilitate the speedy and amicable settlement of pending quasi-judicial appeal cases, Deputy Director of Land Records Mahesh Ingale said in a press release here today.
The Lok Adalat will provide an opportunity for parties willing to settle their disputes through mutual consent to resolve pending cases related to the Land Records Department.
The Lok Adalat for cases from Ahilyanagar and the District Superintendent of Land Records office in Shirdi will be held on December 30, 2026. Cases from Nashik and the District Superintendent of Land Records office in Malegaon will be taken up on December 7, 2026. Cases from Dhule and Nandurbar will be heard on December 15, 2026, while cases from Jalgaon will be taken up on January 6, 2027.
The campaign is being implemented in accordance with a Government Resolution issued by the Revenue and Forest Department on August 14. The first phase will be held on December 15, 2026, at noon at the office of the Deputy Director of Land Records, Nashik Region, Nashik. Cases from Nashik, Malegaon, Ahilyanagar, Shirdi, Dhule, Nandurbar and Jalgaon will be included in this phase.
The second phase will be conducted on different dates in March 2027. Cases from the office of the Deputy Director of Land Records, Nashik Region, will be taken up on March 16, 2027, those from Ahilyanagar and Shirdi on March 30, Nashik, Malegaon and Jalgaon cases on March 15, and cases from Dhule and Nandurbar on March 13.
Quasi-judicial appeal cases in which both parties agree to a settlement and where an amicable resolution is possible can be disposed of through this process. For this, the concerned parties must submit a Revenue Lok Adalat Settlement Application in Form ‘A’ as prescribed under the Government Resolution. The cases will then be placed before the Lok Adalat for consideration.
The initiative aims to provide citizens with speedy relief by resolving pending Land Records-related disputes through mutual consent. The department has appealed to the concerned parties to attend the Lok Adalat on the scheduled dates with the required documents and make use of the opportunity.

Protesters detained outside IIT Bombay over student suicide

Mumbai, Sept 22 (UNI) Police on Tuesday detained dozens of activists belonging to the RPI A and Bharat Mukti Morcha after they staged a protest outside the main gate of IIT Bombay over the alleged death by suicide of 22-year-old student Sahil Wakode, an official said. This was the second day of protests with Youth Congress activists staging a demonstration near the campus gate on Monday.
