Maha: RPI (A) chief Athawale slams Kharge over 'Modi ka baap' remarks

Nagpur, Oct 26 (UNI) union Minister and RPI (A) chief, Ramdas Athawale, today criticised Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge over his controversial remarks concerning Prime Minister Narendra Modi, terming them inappropriate and unacceptable.
He came down heavily on Congress president Kharge for his controversial remark about PM Modi’s late father.
Speaking to reporters here, Athawale stated that Kharge heads a major political party that remained in power for 60 years and that it was not appropriate for the president of such a party to insult the Prime Minister.
“Mallikarjun Kharge is the president of a major party, a party that remained in power for 60-70 years. It is not appropriate for the president of such a party to insult the Prime Minister. It seems that he has a habit of making such remarks, which is not right at all. Making such comments is completely unacceptable; it constitutes a grave insult to the Prime Minister,” Athawale said.
Kharge’s remarks, made at a programme in Patna on Sunday, triggered a political controversy, with the BJP strongly criticising the Congress chief and demanding an apology.
Meanwhile, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari also criticised Kharge’s comments concerning the Prime Minister’s late father, while Maharashtra Minister Pankaj Bhoyar termed the remarks condemnable.
