Maha: Search continues for teen swept away at Vasai Beach

Mumbai, Sep 17 (UNI) Rescue teams continued searching for a 15-year-old boy at Suruchi Beach on Thursday, more than three days after he was reportedly swept into the sea while playing football, leaving his family and local residents anxiously awaiting news.
Ankit Gupta had visited Suruchi Beach with friends on September 14 to play football.
During the game, the ball went into the sea and the boy entered the water to retrieve it. He was then reportedly caught in strong waves and currents and swept away.
The incident was reported immediately, following which authorities and rescue teams began a search operation along the beach and surrounding waters.
Despite sustained efforts over the past 72 hours, Ankit had not been traced so far.
The teenager’s family continues to hope that he will be found safe as search operations remain underway. Rescue personnel and the local administration are continuing efforts in the area while dealing with difficult sea conditions.
Authorities have urged people to remain extremely cautious near the coastline, particularly during periods of strong currents and rough seas, and to avoid entering the water in unsafe conditions.
