Nashik: House shifted instead of demolished for road widening

Nashik, Sep 17 (UNI) In an unusual and innovative experiment, a newly constructed house in Yeola taluka of Nashik district is being shifted to another location instead of being demolished to make way for road widening.
The house, built near the factory of Yeola-based entrepreneur Samrat Verma, has been obstructing the road expansion work.
Rather than demolishing the newly-built structure and suffering a major financial loss, Verma decided to relocate it while preserving the property and its emotional value.
Experts in house-shifting technology have been brought in from Kurukshetra in Haryana to carry out the operation.
The entire house is being lifted from its foundation with the help of approximately 250 hydraulic jacks and moved to a new location by a team of 10 workers.
The relocation process is expected to take around one month. The initiative is being described as the first such experiment in Nashik involving the shifting of an entire house.
Moreover. the use of modern technology to save the house from demolition has attracted considerable attention and appreciation from residents in the area.
