Maha: State Home minister Kadam vows complete crackdown on international crime syndicates

Mumbai, Oct 19 (UNI) Stating firmly that the state government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards gangsterism, Maharashtra Minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam today assured foolproof security for cine-artistes and citizens following the recent firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s vehicle in Juhu suburb of Mumbai.
Addressing a press conference here, he asserted that the state security apparatus is fully aware of the modus operandi of international criminal syndicates operating from foreign soil, who orchestrate local extortion and terror via social media threats and hired shooters.
"The state government will not tolerate this goondaism. To smash this international syndicate, we are taking the assistance of central intelligence agencies, and 100 per cent strict action will be taken against the culprits," Kadam stated.
Reassuring the film fraternity, he emphasized that artistes and citizens have no reason to fear, as police continue to evaluate threat perceptions and provide adequate protection.
Kadam strongly dismissed Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut's demand for President's Rule in the state, turning the tables by pointing to security lapses and controversies during the previous MVA administration, including the gelatin-scare incident and high-profile extortion allegations. He defended Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis, praising his stable handling of law and order over the past seven years.
Addressing the political controversy surrounding the death of Thane political worker Pradeep Purnekar, Kadam urged the opposition to refrain from opportunistic politics, assuring that strict legal action will follow against anyone implicated by concrete evidence during the ongoing police investigation.
