Maha: Three youths arrested for gangraping medical girl student

Sangli, May 22 (UNI) Police on Thursday arrested three youths, including two medical students, for allegedly gangraping a girl student of a medical college at Wanlesswadi in city.
According to Vishrambag police, arrested youths -- identified as Vinay Vishwesh Patil (22) of Solapur,
Sarvadnya Santosh Gaikwad (20) from Pune (both studied with the victim) and Tanmay Sukumar Pednekar (21) of Sangli city, both accused's common friend, took the girl to a room in Wanlesswadi and gave her a cold drink mixed with intoxicant. She fell asleep and then, all three raped her.
After she woke up early this morning, the girl rushed to the Vishrambag police station and lodged a complaint against three.
The victim, originally from Belgaum in Karnataka, was studying in a medical college in Sangli.
Police immediately swung into action and arrested all three youths.
Further investigation is on, sources added.
