Man dies after being hit by train

Phagwara, June 29 (UNI) A man was killed after being struck by a train near the railway crossing at Shekhupur in Kapurthala on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Gursewak Singh of Bhagatpur village.
According to ASI Shakeel Mohammad of the Railway police, Singh had been mentally disturbed
for some time. He reportedly left his home during the night without informing his family, who began searching for him shortly afterwards.
The body was discovered on the railway tracks at kilometer marker 23/4-5. Railway police reached
the spot and took custody of the body for further investigation.
Authorities have not ruled out suicide, but an official cause of death will be confirmed following postmortem and further inquiries. The family has been informed, and legal formalities are underway.
