Manipur receives award for best performing state among Hilly & NE under India Electric Mobility Index 2025

Imphal, Sep 16 (UNI) Manipur was today conferred the Best Performing State among Hilly & North-Eastern States award under the India Electric Mobility Index (IEMI) 2025, issued by NITI Aayog.
State Transport Department official said the award was given in a function held in New Delhi today.
In the Open Category, Delhi topped the list, followed by Maharashtra, Karnataka and Chandigarh.
Manipur was recognised as the Best Performing State among the Hilly & North-Eastern States, marking a significant achievement for the State in the field of electric mobility.
The award recognises the State’s efforts and performance in promoting electric mobility and sustainable transportation, and is a significant milestone in Manipur’s ongoing efforts towards accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles and developing an enabling ecosystem for clean mobility, according to a Transport official.
The award was received on behalf of the Government of Manipur by a team headed by RK Dinesh Singh, Principal Secretary (Transport), Government of Manipur. The team comprised Laltanpuii, Special Secretary (TCI); Kh. Diana Devi, Director (Transport); Priyoranjan, MSPCL; and Kh. Sanjeevkumar, DTO, Imphal West.
The recognition reflects the coordinated efforts of the Transport Department and other stakeholders in advancing the State’s electric mobility agenda.
Manipur has been undertaking various initiatives to facilitate the transition towards cleaner modes of transportation, including measures for strengthening electric mobility infrastructure and promoting sustainable transport solutions the official added.
The award by NITI Aayog is expected to further encourage the State Government to intensify its efforts towards creating a cleaner, greener and more sustainable transportation system in Manipur.
