Marathon 4.0 is about creating opportunities for women to build sustainable livelihoods: FICCI FLO JKL Chairperson

Jammu, Sep 19 (UNI) Announcing the Marathon 4.0 in collaboration with Jammu Tourism, with a purpose to set up Jammu’s First Women’s Skilling Centre, FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Chairperson, Varsha Bansal on Saturday said that the Marathon is about creating opportunities for women to learn, become skilled and build sustainable livelihoods.
“Marathon 4.0 scheduled for October 4 is a marathon with a heart. It is not just about running; it is about creating opportunities for women to learn, become skilled and build sustainable livelihoods. Every step taken on this route will contribute to a larger purpose of women’s empowerment,” Bansal told reporters here at a press conference.
She highlighted that the route was consciously selected in collaboration with Jammu Tourism to showcase and promote the Four A Resort–Parmandal circuit, a beautiful tourism circuit of Jammu.
The initiative complements the Government’s efforts towards developing and promoting new tourism circuits in the region, she added.
The marathon she said will start and finish at Four A Resort, following the scenic Four A Resort–Parmandal–Four A Resort circuit.
Organised in collaboration with Jammu Tourism, the event will feature 21 km Half Marathon, 10 km, 5 km and 3km categories.
Kanupriya Garg, Race Director, elaborated on the runner-focused arrangements, including multiple hydration points, medical and safety support, route management and measures to ensure the wellbeing of participants.
She also highlighted the significance of introducing this distinctive route and giving runners an opportunity to experience Jammu beyond its conventional city routes.
Manjal Auto is the Prime Platinum Sponsor and with over 600 registrations already received, the marathon is witnessing an encouraging response from runners across the region, she said.
Varuna Anand, National Initiative Head – Textiles and Handicrafts; Ruchika Gupta, Past Chairperson; Rupika Sahai, Senior Vice Chairperson; Sona Mehta, Vice Chairperson; Kanupriya Garg, Race Director and Shipra Agarwal, Treasurer were among flanked the Chairperson.
The FICCI FLO JKL however expressed that the organisation is looking forward to bringing together the running community, families, corporates and citizens for a marathon that brings together fitness, tourism, women’s empowerment and social impact.
