MLA Payal Shankar urges Governor to issue house-site pattas to Tribal Families in Adilabad

Hyderabad, Sep 30 (UNI) A delegation led by Adilabad MLA Payal Shankar urged Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla to take steps to issue house-site pattas and provide basic amenities to tribal families residing in Komaram Bheem Colony of Battiswargav village in Mavala mandal, Adilabad district.
The delegation met the Governor at Lok Bhavan on Wednesday and submitted a representation seeking government intervention. Payal Shankar informed the Governor that around 500 tribal families have been living in the colony, located in Survey No. 72, for nearly 30 years.
According to the delegation, the families have not been issued house-site pattas or formal recognition of their rights over the residential plots. This has reportedly affected their access to electricity, safe drinking water and various government welfare schemes.
The delegation requested the Governor to advise the concerned authorities to conduct a comprehensive field-level verification, identify eligible families and issue house-site pattas in accordance with the applicable rules. It also sought the provision of basic amenities to the residents.
The delegation said issuing house-site pattas would enable eligible tribal families to construct houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
The Governor heard the representation and assured the delegation that the matter would be examined.
On the occasion, MLA Payal Shankar and tribal representatives felicitated the Governor by presenting him with a traditional Gussadi peacock-feather crown, symbolising tribal culture and tradition.
Earlier, Medak MP M Raghunandan Rao called on Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Lok Bhavan in Hyderabad.
