Mobile Unreserved Ticketing System' (M-UTS) service launched in Jammu Station

Jammu, Nov 5 (UNI) To control the rush of passengers at Jammu Railway Station during the upcoming festival season and emergency situations, and to provide relief from long queues at ticket counters, the Railway has launched the 'Mobile Unreserved Ticketing System' (M-UTS) service in the Jammu Division.
Under this modern and digital system, as per the official communique, the commercial staff of the Railway will remain mobile with handheld devices and Bluetooth thermal printers in platforms, waiting halls and other crowded areas of the station premises and will issue unreserved journey tickets and platform tickets on the spot, for which passengers will be able to make quick payment in cash or by scanning a QR code through UPI.
To expand the scope of this public facility and to ensure smooth operations during festivals, the Railway Administration has invited applications for five M-UTS Sahayaks (Assistants).
Willing and eligible persons will be appointed to these posts, who will help passengers through mobile vending machines at the station, in which retired Railway employees may be given priority as per rules.
Giving information about this system, the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal said, "Saving passengers' time and controlling crowd at the station during festivals and emergency situations is the top priority of the Railway.
He further informed that the M-UTS service will reduce queues at ticket counters by reaching directly among the passengers and with the aim of ensuring smooth operations during this busy period, applications have been invited for the participation of 5 'M-UTS Sahayaks', who will provide tickets to passengers on the move at the station itself while assisting in crowd management during emergencies and festivals."
