Jaipur, Nov 5 (UNI) Around 82.32 per cent of the 10:06 million electorate exercised their franchise in 3,716 gram panchayats in the third spell of voting in Rajasthan's Panchayat Polls 2026 to elect 3,666 Sarpanches and 34,218 ward panchs.
The polling was at the local village panchayat level which was conducted on paper ballots.
As many as 3,716 gram panchayats in 27 districts went to polls for constituting their respective new Houses.
However, Sarpanches in as many as 50 gram panchayats have already been elected unopposed.
The polling by and large was smooth and peaceful as people participated in the exercise in a big number.
Queues of waiting voters were seen for most of the time during the day resulting in a fairly high turnout of voters, enthusing the contestants as well as officials in the state election commission here.
The Pallu Panchayat Samiti in Hanumangarh district topped with the highest turnout of voters, recording 92.05 percent polling, while the Samdari Panchayat Samiti of Balotra district registered the least polling at 64.81 percent.
The counting of votes polled today was being conducted after completion of polling at 06:00pm. The results are likely by late tonight.
