MPSC row escalates: Rohit Pawar threatens resignation, accuses Maha govt of “ego game”

Pune, Oct 6 (UNI) The fierce satyagraha staged by Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) aspirants in Pune took an explosive political turn on Tuesday.
NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar dropped a major political bombshell, alleging that MPSC Chairman Vivek Bhimanwar has already submitted his resignation, but the state government is sitting on it purely out of political ego and fear.
Addressing a press conference, Pawar claimed that Bhimanwar sent his resignation directly to Chief Minister during the evening hours. However, instead of forwarding it constitutionally to the state Governor, the matter has been kept confined to the Chief Minister's office.
Pawar launched a scathing attack on the administration, asserting that the government is petrified that accepting a resignation under student pressure would set a precedent, potentially opening floodgates for accountability against ministers or even the Chief Minister.
"This is no longer about student welfare; it has been reduced to a game of the Chief Minister's ego," Pawar charged.
With thousands of competitive exam aspirants refusing to back down from their principal demand for the Chairman's ouster, the satyagraha near S.M. Joshi Bridge has transformed into a high-stakes political flashpoint.
As the protest enters a critical phase, all eyes remain fixed on the state administration to see how it handles the mounting pressure and whether it will act on the stalled resignation.
