BCIC plans Singapore, Dubai branches to expand Karnataka's global industrial footprint

Bengaluru, Nov 2 (UNI) Seeking to position Karnataka's industrial ecosystem on the global business map, the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) is planning to establish branches in Singapore and Dubai while stepping up efforts to attract Japanese technology partnerships, investments and manufacturing collaborations.
Announcing the proposed expansion during the 4th edition of India-Japan Business Summit held by BCIC here on Monday, BCIC President CA K. Ravi said the chamber was working towards transforming itself into an international bridge connecting Karnataka and India with global industrial and innovation networks.
The proposed overseas branches, along with an ambitious calendar of programmes including an AI Summit, CSR Awards and Manufacturing, Sustainability and Agro Awards, are part of BCIC's efforts to create new opportunities for its members and strengthen the state's industrial competitiveness.
Ravi identified India-Japan cooperation as a major area of opportunity, emphasising that Japanese technological expertise combined with India's entrepreneurial strength, skilled talent and expanding manufacturing capabilities could create new avenues for innovation, investment and sustainable growth.
Highlighting the chamber's international outreach, he cited BCIC's 80-member trade delegation to Osaka in August 2025, which engaged with Japanese business leaders, institutions and enterprises to explore concrete business partnerships.
The visit opened possibilities for collaborations involving micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), startup exchanges, technology transfers, innovation-led initiatives and cross-border business opportunities, he said.
Ravi credited the BCIC Japan Initiatives Expert Committee for playing a significant role in building institutional connections with Japanese industries and facilitating business opportunities for Indian companies.
He said the chamber's Golden Jubilee was not merely an occasion to celebrate its legacy but an opportunity to recognise the contribution of generations of industry leaders and prepare Karnataka's industrial sector for emerging global opportunities.
BCIC was also seeking to facilitate joint ventures, technology partnerships, investment opportunities, market access and collaborations between startups and established enterprises.
Inviting more Indian and international companies to join the chamber, Ravi said BCIC offered Indian businesses a platform for policy engagement, networking and knowledge exchange, while providing Japanese enterprises an institutional gateway to India's expanding industrial ecosystem.
"Our aspiration is to make BCIC not merely a chamber of commerce, but a bridge of opportunity connecting Karnataka, India, and Japan with the world," he said.
He expressed confidence that deeper engagement between Indian and Japanese businesses would help create lasting partnerships and strengthen global competitiveness.
