Manipur CM Khemchand Singh raises Manipur highway projects with Nitin Gadkari

Imphal, Oct 8 (UNI) Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh today met union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari at his official residence in New Delhi and raised several issues concerning road infrastructure and connectivity in the State, according to the State Information Office.
During the meeting, Khemchand Singh urged Gadkari to initiate construction of the Shangshak-Tengnoupal Highway and sought sanction for the proposed elevated highway project in Imphal city.
The Chief Minister also urged the union Minister to ensure completion of the ongoing works on National Highway-37 and National Highway-2 during the current working season to improve connectivity and reduce the difficulties faced by people.
Gadkari informed the Chief Minister that the proposed elevated highway project in Imphal was under active consideration of the Ministry.
The union Minister also assured Khemchand Singh that the issues and projects raised by the State Government would be duly addressed and that the Ministry would extend all possible assistance to Manipur for improving road connectivity and overall development.
