Cleanliness drive to prevent waterlogging in Manipur

Imphal June, 25 (UNI) Deputy Commissioner, Kakching, Rohit Anand (IAS), flagged off a cleanliness drive today at Kakching Bazar with an aim to prevent waterlogging during the rainy season.
The drive is likely to be continued over a week.
During the drive, the drains on both sides of the National Highway – 137 (A) of the market area will be cleaned using de-silting vehicle and garbage carrier vehicles.
The drive is being conducted under the supervision of the District Administration Kakching and organised by the Kakching Municipal Council (KMC).
Ahead of the drive, the KMC in a notice on 16th of this month informed the public especially to the shop owners and shopkeepers of Kakching Bazar to remove all the slabs covering the drains in
front of the shops and requesting them to extend their valuable cooperation during the cleanliness drive in public interest.
