Meghalaya Assembly delegation participates National Conference of Estimates Committees of Parliament

Shillong, June 23 (UNI) A delegation from the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly is participating in the two-day National Conference of the Estimates Committees of Parliament and State/UT Legislatures, being held from Monday at the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in Mumbai.

Chairman of the Committee on Estimates of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, Mayralborn Syiem is leading the delegation. He is accompanied by Members Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar, Wailadmiki Shylla, Miani D. Shira and Arbinstone B. Marak.

The team is supported by Commissioner & Secretary Andrew Simons and other senior officials of the Meghalaya Assembly Secretariat.

The Conference was inaugurated by Lok Sbha Speaker Om Birla.

This year’s theme is “Role of Estimates Committee in Effective Monitoring and Review of Budget Estimates for Ensuring Efficiency and Economy in Administration.”

Mayralborn Syiem actively contributed to the discussions, offering insights into Meghalaya’s approach to legislative scrutiny, budget monitoring, and promoting financial accountability.

The participation underlines Meghalaya’s ongoing efforts to strengthen good governance through robust legislative oversight.
