Patna, June 26 (UNI) In order to facilitate travel and for convenience of the people coming to Bihar, the state government has decided to operate 299 AC and non-AC buses on the interstate routes connected to Bihar.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, through a social media post on his account X, said here today that a large number of people from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and West Bengal visit their state on the occasion of various festivals, especially Chhath, Holi, Deepawali and Durga Puja.
In view of their difficulties in coming to Bihar on the occasion of festivals, the state government was making efforts constantly for their safe and smooth journey, Kumar said, adding that the state government will operate 299 AC and non-AC buses on the interstate routes.
Kumar said that the cabinet has already given its nod and the state government would spend Rs 105.82 crore on the purchase of 75 air-conditioned and 74 deluxe buses. Along with this, 150 additional AC buses will also be operated under public private partnership, he said.
The CM also requested the Centre to run more special trains on the occasion of festivals, especially Chhath, Holi, Diwali and Durga Puja so that the people can conveniently reach their home during festivals.
